background

After leaving UCL with a degree in English Literature I went on to open my own publishing company in spite of being described by my teacher as “the kind of girl who’ll be found dead in a ditch.” When I met her years later she said it wasn’t that she hadn’t liked me, just that she didn’t want to be responsible for looking after me.

I get that. I don’t like small, rigid spaces and I didn’t like being put in one. I like freedom to move and change which is what makes me good at my job.

When I work with someone, I like to discover who they are - or who they want to be - and find a way to voice it. Everyone sees themselves differently but not everyone knows how to articulate it. That’s what I’m good at: Getting to know a person and putting them into words.

Every project is a new challenge and I love to work with people from the ground up to see what we come up with together. With any luck, the experience will also be stimulating and fun for both sides. No one wants a boring day at the office…..

“The material needed to be ironic, funny - and in the style of one of the greatest playwrights of all time. “

— Ian Denyer, Director

We needed some specialised sketch material for a BBC documentary presented by a very hot talent. The brief was exacting as was the time-frame. The material needed to be ironic, funny - and in the style of one of the greatest playwrights of all time.

There was already a buzz about the ability of writer Charlotte Sones and her writing partner Georgia Mackenzie - tight, acidic dialogue freighted with irony and above all, deeply, deeply dark. It was immediately obvious they were the right fit. Within a week we took delivery of ten interpretations - no egocentric over-pushing of the brief, all of them painfully funny.

Then they came to set and performed the chosen piece. Polished, professional, profound.

copywriting

I have a BA in English Literature from UCL and ran my own publishing company for ten years. I am skilled at researching and writing to a brief.

ghostwriting

I am great at helping clients find their own voice and putting their personality into words. I’m professional, flexible, discreet and unfazed by egos big or small….

treatments

As a scriptwriter I have oceans of experience writing treatments which are deadly boring but a necessary part of the job. My decade heading up sales in my own company honed my ability to research and present for a particular audience. The bottom line of any business is that you have to be able to sell it - whatever the product - and a good treatment is an integral part of that process.

content

If you haven’t got time, I have. Blogs, social media accounts, I do the lot.

screenwriting

I write comedy for television and radio. My sketch ‘Buffet’ - which I co-wrote and performed - aired as part of the Sky Arts Passions season - Danny Dyer on Harold Pinter - and was shortlisted for a 2019 Comedy Chort award. My speciality is sitcom and my forte is dialogue and gag writing.
